Babies, Brenham, Blogging

It's been a long time coming. I have finally joined the blogging scene.

I'm already overwhelmed with imense pressure to say something important, profound, or stinkin' hilarious. We really aren't even that interesting. But, there are just too many exciting things happening in our lives right now. I can no longer keep them to myself. God is so faithful and wonderful. Everyday something cool or amazing happens in our midst and I think, 'If I had a blog, I would soooo tell everyone about this right now!'

A lot has happened in our lives in just one year! The two biggest being where we now live and our growing family.

The Day Our Family Grew

We live in Brenham on a farm that is named 'Yonder Way Farm' with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Durward. Our family has grown tremendously close over this passed year because we get work alongside each other almost every single day working in the garden, riding with Jason on the tractor, building a hen house, feeding the pigs, and the list goes on. It is a blessing that our girls get to grow up this way.

The Garden

Our goal is to eventually make Yonder Way Farm into a working farm with homegrown vegetables and fruit, chickens, pigs, and grassfed cows. Jason is the visionary of the farm. I just get to be his sidekick.

The Crew

We are blessed to also call Aunt Debbie and Uncle Durward our neighbors. There is literally one driveway that seperates us. We love them so much and everyday is an adventure to say the least! They show us daily what it means to give sacrificially and joyfully. And are some of the kindest people I've ever had the priveledge of knowing who live out being joyful in all circumstances. We are so thankful that they have allowed us to be a part of their everyday lives and be part of turning the farm into something amazing and successful.

We are also enjoying being parents of two beautiful little girls. I'm in amazement and awe of the Creator every single time I see a life brought into this world. It is a miracle that something so perfect grows inside for 9 months (8 in Kaylyn's case:) being knitted and formed just as the Lord intended for them to be. Then they make their debut into the world and we get to rejoice and marvel at such a precious and intimate creation. God loves us so much that He knows everything about us before we were ever a thought here on earth. He knows so intimately that He has memorized the hairs on our head.

Kaylyn's 3rd Year Pictures

Kaylyn (KK) is our socialite and our girly girl! She is always pretending to be something that pertains to being a girl......ballerina, princess, teacher, mommy, or fashion diva. She has the most incredible imagination and every second you spend with her is always exciting and interesting. You never know what she is going to say or do. Kaylyn is also insanely observant. She keeps you on your toes that's for sure!

Laney Rae and Mommy

And then there is Laney Rae. She is one of the easiest babies I've ever been around. Always content, always smiling, always happy. We didn't even know that she could cry the first week of her life. And did I mention........CHUNKY! I'm proud of every single roll on her cute little legs. She is precious.

My precious Jason.....the love of my life. He is the most wonderful man that I know. I have seen so many amazing thing sprout up in his heart over this passed year. He truly has a passion for God's creation. I love getting to spend all of my days with him laughing and learning together. We have so much fun together. He leads and loves us daily. His girls are so blessed to have him as their father and the legacy that he is modeling before them.

So, I think this is probably the longest intro post ever! I hope that you come back and see what is going on in our lives and on the farm. The purpose of this blog is to let you know a little bit more about us, what we love, and our passion for making Yonder Way Farm into a working farm with lots of exciting stories and insights a long the way.

What a cool blog! I told my mom about your famrers market and she already had stars in her eye.

I think she will be your #1 customer.

We also think ya'll are pretty cool!

Sidenote: Mike is so into this new way of life and eating. It makes it so easy for me to do it now that he is not engulfed in fried fast food anymore!

So tell Jason thanks for the long talk at Galveston, Mike was really listening. He has already lost 4 pounds. WOW!!!

Ash,
That is great! We're back to our old healthy selves since we got back from vacation too. It feels great! I did have to clean out my Galveston box and throw most of it out....... temptation!

I love your blog. I've always wanted you to have one. (Not always...like since last year.) Reading it made me want to go sit out on a wrap-around porch and drink lemonade. Do you even have a wrap-around porch? Can Jason build one if not?
I am adding you to my blog as well. I will be checking back. The pics on a photographers blog put the rest of us to shame!

Well I am, as you know already, ashamed of myself for not posting earlier. Had I received the memo, I would have beat out those Hendrick people! Poop! (No offense Hendrick people.)

Anyway....love it, love it, love it. Love the blurbs, love the pics, love yonder way. LOVE the adorable pic of Laney Rae. I must have one of my own.

Now, if you truly want to bring out the funniness to the blog, you must post in your ghetto tone next time. I really think I will get on this site just for that.

Well, I might not have been first, but doggonett...I was the longest!
