Abel & Sarah Katherine::::::e-session

I know I've said here before that I'm no longer "doing" the photography thing- or at least building and growing a photography business.

But, I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph and participate in such a sweet couple's special day. Here is a link to their sweet blog.

Sarah Katherine's family is super special to our family and go to church with us. And in the process of meeting and getting to know Abel, we cannot be more thrilled that the Lord has chosen to knit their hearts together.

They are beyond sweet to one another and already "get it". Sarah has such an amazing heart ready to serve and love her man. Abel's heart is to lovingly lead and guide his woman. The beauty of Christ shines in these two.

So, when they asked me to photograph their special day I said,"of course."

We headed to downtown Brenham for their engagement session and it didn't disappoint. Downtown Brenham is perfection to photograph in. I've shot there so many times, but each time we go exploring during a photo session, we discover a new spot.

Abel loves working on cars and has the mind of an engineer. So, I'm hoping that the shots with old cars and trucks look extra groovy in their home.

On a photography related note, I'm in LOVE with THIS lens. I've been renting it from THIS company and can't seem to part with it.

LensProToGo.com has excellent customer service and make it super easy to get your hands on some of the most fab lenses around. I'm one that likes to try it before I buy it. I've been super impressed with them and highly recommend using them!

I shot this entire engagement session on this lens because I love it so much and its consistency is the bomb.

The majority of these images are SOOC (straight out of the camera). Who can beat that??

Here are some of my favs from my engagement session with Abel and Sarah Katherine. Enjoy!

And now, the rest..........

Here are the rest of the pictures from our photo session with our two girls. I can't believe that in 7 weeks we will be saying,"our three girls." Crazy!

Its amazing how different these two are.

Kaylyn is the trendy, style-concious, poser.

Laney Rae is the light-hearted, free spirited, roamer.

Each of these two are special and wonderful in their own way.

When Kaylyn is dressed up like this, she is in her element and takes on the character of a beauty queen- a photographer's dream client!

When Laney Rae is wearing anything girlie or foofy, we laugh because she is SO good at making us laugh. She is a total HAM in front of the camera and desires to spend each moment making me laugh to the point of tears.

While it is still extremely difficult to get a good shot of them together, I think we made a little progress with this photo session.

We took our new pink chair to downtown Brenham and had fun! These pictures would not have been possible if Farmer Jason wasn't such a trooper. Thanks honey!

Enjoy!

Farm Update through pictures

I haven't posted much about the farm lately.

Things are still growing and Jason is still working tremendously hard. The rye and clover grasses that he planted in October are starting to come up. Our pastures are getting greener and greener as the seeds make their way up into a full blown blade of grass. In a month or so, our pastures will be picturesque.

The cows are being rotated throughout the fields in small 1-2 acres pads. They usually stay on the pads about a day and then move on to the next. The point of rotating is so that the cows focus in on one small area and eat it all down before they get moved. The manure in such a small area is pushed and shoved back into the earth which fertilizes and puts all kinds of good stuff into the dirt. We are up to 36 total cows right now with more to come in January. Jason thinks the cows will be ready in the Spring.

We've lost a lot of chickens to a hawk. But, have no fear. Jason is here! He caught that hawk and had to teach him a lesson. We haven't lost any since then to hawks. We are up to about a dozen of eggs a day.

The 2 older sows are getting more and more beautiful- if that's possible for a pig to be beautiful. We've decided to keep the two bigger ones and breed them for more piglets. They are really show quality and have taken a liking to their daily belly rubs by none other than farmer Jason. We are in the process of getting an enormous boar for breeding. Hopefully we will have Spring piglets.

We've learned a lot through this entire farming adventure. But, the biggest thing we've learned is that there is a season for everything. Things don't just happen overnight. It is a patient process that requires planning and performance and lots of prayer. I am reminded of the scripture in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Here are some recent pictures of what is going on around here.

I started a photography blog to post some of my work on.

I realized that their needed to be a separation of farm & photography so there you have it.

Although, you will still see pictures of the farm and our family here. There is just no getting around that!

GO DOWN TO THE NEXT POST TO SEE PICTURES OF MY BEAUTIFUL NIECE! I didn't want you to miss them.

You can see the photography blog HERE and it will also be linked over to the side.

Mosier Wedding

I had the priveledge of taking pictures at Matt & Erin Mosier's wedding. It was a beautiful Christ-centered wedding.....my favorite. Their reception was at a sweet loft in downtown Waco.

This couple has blessed my life by being in it. They truly delight in the Lord and as a reflection of that their marriage is filled with delight in each other. Erin and Matt have so much fun together and truly are best friends. What an amazing start to such an beautiful marriage.

The Lord has more than showered me with great relationships through photography. The relationships with most of the brides I have worked with have turned into beautiful friendships that are growing. Erin is one of those special girls! I have gone from not even knowing who she was (man, I was missing out!) to calling her a sweet friend.

Here are some of favorites from their wedding photos.

I realize that as of lately this blog is looking more like a photography blog. I promise its not. There is more Yonder Way to come.......I promise.

I've been doing lots of editing and fun stuff and the Mosiers.....well, they're just amazing!
