It's a Texas Thang......

to photograph your children in wildflowers!

If there were a picture limit on blogger, I'm sure this would put me over the edge.

We took on the challenge of taking pictures of Kaylyn and Laney Rae a few days ago. I say 'challenge' because I've never taken pictures of children that wasn't a challenge including my own.

Jason was a trooper. He isn't a fan of taking pictures and by the end of it all, he was sweating bullets he had worked so hard. I think he walked away with a new found appreciation of photographers who take pictures of children.

I like that my girls' birthdays are so close on the calendar. It is pretty convenient. This photo shoot covered Laney Rae's one year old, Kaylyn's 4 year old, Spring, and Easter pictures. And since we live in Texas, the wildflowers are incredible right now.

I left feeling defeated because it was seriously a workout having a crawler and toddler that never sits still! But, I ended up with a lot of keepers. I got a lot of Kaylyn on the go which worked out really well. We tried to keep Laney Rae contained since she could 'go'.

Laney Rae is a joyful baby girl. She smiles a lot, laughs a lot, and eats a lot! She will eat anything when it comes to veggies and fruit. I fed her raw zuchinni and carrots for lunch yesterday and she loved it. Laney Rae still isn't walking, but I'm thinking in a few months she will be all over the place. I'm enjoying her just the way she is. This girl likes to sleep! She takes two 2 hour naps everyday and goes to bed at 7:30 pm and sleeps through until 8 am. It is pretty awesome! Her favorite thing to play is peek-a-boo right now. She initiates this by putting her hands up on her forehead. It is pretty adorable! Laney Rae loves being outside and watching the animals. I think we have a future farm girl on our hands. She is at her happiest when we are pushing her around in the stroller.

Kaylyn is a precious little girl. She is the MOST intuitive child I've ever been around (don't all moms say this:). Kaylyn notices everything and has such an imaginative and creative mind. She also loves to sit and talk. Her love language is definitely communication. And we have some pretty funny and interesting conversations considering she is ONLY 4 (almost). Her sense of humor is brilliant. Kaylyn is also into fashion. She changes clothes up to 4 times a day. I don't seem to have a problem with this as long as the clothes get put away or in the dirty clothes if they are dirty. She loves coming up with creative outfits.

The two of them together are super fun! Kaylyn is a great big sister and loves to be a helper to me. Laney Rae can say 'Ta Ta' which is her way of saying 'KK'. Kaylyn is usually the first person she looks for when she wakes up from her nap. They are a joy and a delight. We are enjoying every minute of our girls. The Lord made them so different and we are so thankful He chose us to be their parents.

Gorgeous, gorgeous pictures! I *know* how hard it is to get pictures of young children. Yep. I really do. The first one of just the chairs is beautiful. I love the one of your oldest with her arms up in front of the house/barn. Lovely.

I also enjoyed all the pictures you posted of your animals and garden. Thanks for sharing!
