I pray that this Easter you will put ALL of your eggs in the Jesus basket. He is worthy of everything we have and all that we are. Happy Easter!

**I didn't realize as I was taking this photo this morning that the window in the background formed a perfect cross.**

The cross was the first think I noticed! Gorgeous photo. It is so simple, yet strong.
Off the subject kind of... do you use photo shop to make other things blurry or what setting do you put your camera on? I have a Canon Rebel XT. I love your pics! Natural at it!
awesome picture...beautifully said...love you my daughter and freind...the CROSS is what us as christians should be most focused on this easter season...without the CROSS our lives would have no meaning...and yes i did see the eggs but most of all HIS cross stood out greatly...thanks...HE IS RISEN...HE IS RISEN INDEED...blessings to you and your precious family love mom
Hey Carrie,
This photo wasn't blurred or Photoshopped, but I do that sometimes using Photoshop and the blur tool.
In order to get the 'blurry' effect, or the shallow depth of field, you need a small aperture number. I shot this picture in Manual (M) wide open using an f stop of 2.8 and shutter speed of 125. The lower your lens' aperture number goes, the more shallow depth of field you can achieve.
In order to get the subject that is in focus off to the side, put the subject in the middle of your camera's view finder, focus, and then move your camera so the subject is in the portion of the frame that you want it to be in.
The Canon Rebel XT is a great digital SLR camera! I usually recommend this to most when people ask me for camera advice.
I hope this all makes sense. Thanks for the comment!
Blessings,
Lyns
Beautiful photo (as always) - perfect for Easter Sunday!!! And thanks for the camera tip - I'll have to try it.
Happy Easter,
Kris
Thank you! I love taking pics but I need to spend more time reading the manual on how to use the camera. After having kids photography becomes a daily thing in the home. You need to start a blog on teaching photography!!!
Simple elegance and beauty!
I've visited your blog many times over the past number of weeks (after I 'happened' to randomly find it one day). Your family is precious and I enjoy reading and watching a young mom grow and discover new things in day-to-day life and in the Lord. You are a blessing. (I really enjoy your husband's blog and reading about farm life too.)
Anyway, I'm Joanie from Seattle, WA, and am no longer 'lurking' but have now made myself known. Blessings...
Your pictures are beautiful!
