From Pushin' babies, to movin' cows.

....I shot this of Jason yesterday as we were out moving cows....

We started the cows back over in their rotations yesterday. They did a full cycle on all of the paddocks that Jason divided the pastures up into.

It is unbelievable how green our grasses are becoming. And this is only the beginning I hear.

We've been doing a lot of talking lately about getting things ready for our first batch of pigs and cows to be slaughtered. And although it is still a few months away, that time is coming indeed. There is a lot that needs to be done before then, but the excitement continues to build.

And now that Spring is slowly making its way to us, things will start happening and growing a lot faster.
....Rowdy in all of his glory....

We've had some incredible opportunities to visit farms around the area and have gotten to see firsthand some of the things we like and don't like. One thing is for sure. We want Yonder Way Farm to be open for all of our customers to experience our farm firsthand and see our animals grazing, our veggies and fruit growing, our pigs rooting, and our chickens clucking. There is so much life here and we want to share that with others.

I love what a fellow farmer of a blog that we visit said. Tim over at Nature's Harmony Farm in Georgia says this,"If we had a certification, it would probably be 'certified transparent'. We will always tell you exactly what we're raising, what they're eating and how they're treated. You are always welcome to visit the farm and see ANYTHING for yourself. We believe you have a right to know EXACTLY what you're eating and feeding your family. And we're eating exactly the same thing that our customers are."

I love that!
....Jason moving the cows like a finely oiled machine. If you open the gate, they will come....

Love your green grass and cows (especially the ones with lots of white) - I checked your weather down there - looks like you have some nice (warm) weather ahead of you (and when you searh West Salem Ohio weather the highest you see is 44 clear at the end of next week). But just seeing your green and sunny pictures reminds me that pretty soon, we will be like that.

Take care,
Kris

Really. Christ-loving farmers are top-shelf! Your husband is one of the coolest people I can claim to know.
